Terms of service.
Last updated October 2026. These terms apply when you register a society on Socievy, use a society's pages as a member, or otherwise use the service. By using Socievy you agree to them.
1. The service
Socievy provides tools for societies to manage members, memberships, events, registrations, attendance, payment receipts, certificates, messages and reports, each society at its own address on this site.
2. Registering a society
A society must be registered by someone who is allowed to act for it. Every request is reviewed by hand and may be approved, rejected, or sent back for more information. The person whose account is approved becomes the society's owner and is responsible for how the society uses Socievy.
The address (web path) of a society cannot be changed without contacting Socievy, because links, QR codes and certificates already shared depend on it.
3. Accounts
Keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think your account has been used without your permission. One account belongs to one society. Society owners should turn on two-step verification.
4. What societies are responsible for
Societies are responsible for the information they collect from their members, for having the right to collect it, for telling members how it is used, and for the messages they send. Societies must not use Socievy to send spam, to collect information under false pretences, to harass people, or for anything unlawful.
Societies are responsible for checking payment receipts and for any payment, refund or dispute between them and their members. Socievy records receipts and refunds but does not hold or move money.
5. Acceptable use
Do not try to access another society's data, interfere with the service, upload harmful files, or use the service in a way that could damage it or other people. We may suspend a society or account that breaks these rules.
6. Content and data
Societies and members keep ownership of what they put into Socievy. They give Socievy permission to store and process it to provide the service. A society can export its data.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of important changes.
8. Suspension and ending
A society owner can stop using Socievy at any time. We may suspend or close a society that breaks these terms, or that we cannot verify. When a society is suspended its pages stop working until it is reactivated or its data is exported or deleted.
9. Fees
Socievy is currently provided without a charge. If we introduce paid plans we will tell society owners in advance, and a society will not be charged without agreeing to it.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Socievy is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
